Heart Aligned with Heaven

Lord, keep my heart pointed towards you,

let your word spread through every dark space,

absorbing my heart until there’s no darkness.

I want what you want, to live out my purpose.

If you came today, I’ll be joyful to see you,

that your people will be with you.

I don’t want to fear not living out milestones,

a wife, children, climbing the corporate ladder.

Those will not fully satisfy.

I want to fear dishonoring you as my Father,

I want to be concerned for the souls of others,

those who may still be lost when you arrive,

because time is up at that moment for them.

I want to fear how I used my precious time here on Earth,

Jesus, I want everyone to know you,

for people to see you, love you, as you love us.

And if they rejected you, they will bow unwillingly,

as we all answer to you after death,

for you are Lord, you are King,

Jesus, have your way in my heart,

I surrender, Lord, I surrender.
